It’s very important the relationship with your body. The body is a reflection of what we think, eat, feel, experience.
To have a healthy relationship with your body it is important to learn to pay attention to it and listen to it. A primary step on this path is to accept your body. Accepting your body involves looking in the mirror and liking it, being happy with what you see.
There are human beings who deny their bodies. Although if you think logically you have this body and you will have it for your whole life. You can’t say: “You know I don’t like my body, I’d like another one! Do something!”. No matter how many thoughts you have that you don’t have a beautiful body, you don’t like your body, they don’t really help you. No matter what, in this moment here you are and this is your body. It is much wiser to accept it. By accepting it you can then, if you wish, shape it through diet, yoga, sports and more.
To accept your body it is very important to let go of comparisons, you are a unique person, you have a unique body. You will say that twins have the same body, or that they are people who look alike, yes, that’s true but they are not identical, they don’t have the same scars or the same pounds, they don’t have the same way of breathing or the same neural connections. We are unique. This body you have has many qualities too, it is of such astounding complexity that you would be surprised to see how hard it works there for you.
A question you might ask yourself is: “why do I now need to feel good in my body?”.
You can share with me your answer to this question. I invite you on your personal development journey which can start with working with your body.
